Phil Lesh & Friends To Play Four Night Run At The Capitol Theatre Nov 15-18

"There's only two theaters…that are set up pretty groovy all around for music – The Fillmore East and the Capitol Theatre. And those are the only two in the whole country." – Jerry Garcia, 1970

Phil Lesh & Friends—featuring Phil Lesh, Jackie Greene, Joe Russo, John Kadlecik, and Adam MacDougall—will perform a four-night run at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, Nov 15-18. The show will mark a homecoming for Lesh, who performed at the theatre regularly with the Grateful Dead during the rock palace's first heyday in the 1970s, appearing nearly 20 times in one year alone.

In other Capitol Theatre news, this week the theatre will host The Dirty Projectors (9/25) and David Gray (9/27). Tickets for Meatloaf's 11/7 show will go on sale this Friday, 9/28, and tickets for Steve Miller's New Year's Eve run (12/30-31) will go on sale next Friday, 10/5. ABOUT PHIL LESH & FRIENDS:
Phil Lesh is entering his 15th year of playing with a rotating mix of Friends, both old and new. Phil began playing under the moniker Phil Lesh and Friends in 1998, after he’d returned to performing following the death of his friend and band mate Jerry Garcia in 1995. With a varied mixture of some of the best performing musicians in the live music universe, Phil has kept his musical journey fresh by constantly and consistently putting together bands featuring dynamic, exciting musicians and singers working together toward keeping the music of the Grateful Dead moving forward into the future.

ABOUT THE CAPITOL THEATRE:
Designed by celebrated architect Thomas Lamb in 1926 and listed in The National Register of Historic Places, the theatre is located approximately 30 miles from NYC, conveniently accessible by I-95 and only one block from the Port Chester Metro North train station. In its distinguished history, the 1,835-capacity theatre has hosted concerts by the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Derek and the Dominos, Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, David Bowie, Santana, Black Sabbath, Iggy Pop, and many more. Following a transformative renovation under the guidance of music entrepreneur Peter Shapiro (Brooklyn Bowl, Wetlands, Relix, U2 3D), the theatre reopened as a rock palace on Sep 4, 2012, with a performance by Bob Dylan. The New York Times raved, "a rock theater that looks and sounds as good as the Capitol is something to celebrate," while Billboard agreed that "the lavishly decorated theater -- filled with mirrors, chandeliers and painstakingly restored detail -- looks absolutely stunning, and sounds even better."
