Attention, parents, babies, and music lovers everywhere: this year, Rockabye Baby celebrates its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of turning iconic songs into gentle instrumental lullabies – and helping families rock (and rest) around the world.
Since launching in 2006 with dreamy takes on Coldplay, Metallica, and Radiohead, the series has grown into the world’s leading lullaby brand, with more than 130 releases and over 4.5 billion streams. Along the way, Rockabye Baby has expanded far beyond its rock roots into hip-hop, pop, country, Latin, Broadway, and global sounds. The brand has reimagined everyone from The Beatles, Queen, and Fleetwood Mac to Bad Bunny, BTS, Beyoncé, and more for a new generation of listeners.
The idea was simple: series co-creator Lisa Roth wanted a baby gift that was thoughtful, fun, and not just for the baby. A gift new parents would actually love. Working with CMH Label Group president David Haerle and collaborator Valerie Aiello, that idea quickly turned into a full-fledged series – one that’s been helping families wind down ever since.
Recent milestones include its first K-pop tribute of BTS. Rockabye Baby has also released full-album lullaby versions of Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On, Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and most recently, a full-length lullaby reimagining of Beyoncé’s Lemonade (all 3 albums available on digital and vinyl).
The celebration continues all year long, with upcoming releases including Lullaby Renditions of Paramore (out 8/14), and a special vinyl edition of Lullaby Renditions of The Beatles, Vol. 2.

The stats are impressive – 1.2 million playlist adds and an average of 90 streams per listener (that’s over four hours each) – but the real story is in the day-to-day: Rockabye Baby has become a go-to for bedtime routines, middle-of-the-night wakeups, and, just as often, for parents who want to hear their favorite songs in a slightly more lullaby-and-chill setting. The series has earned love from outlets like NPR, Rolling Stone, and Parents Magazine, and fans including Questlove, Chrissy Teigen, Elton John, Kate Hudson, and Rivers Cuomo. It’s also popped up everywhere from Jimmy Fallon to the Super Bowl – proof that lullabies can have a pretty wide reach. Twenty years in, Rockabye Baby continues to grow with its audience, bringing new artists, new genres, and new listeners into the fold – while keeping things calm, familiar, and just the right amount of dreamy … Because sometimes, everyone could use a lullaby. Stay tuned for more on the anniversary this year! |
