Seeker Music Names John Bowditch Senior Director of Marketing

 

Seeker Music, the new music rights, publishing and record company, has promoted John Bowditch to Senior Director of Marketing. Since joining Seeker as one of its first employees in 2021, Bowditch has led catalog campaigns such as the “Summer of Cross” which brought Christopher Cross’ catalog to streaming, the release of the “It’s Still About Time” EP tribute to the songwriting of Brian Alexander Morgan, and vinyl repressings of Run The Jewels’ albums. On the frontline side, he has spearheaded releases from Kito, tiLLie, CARR, and more.

Born in Australia, Bowditch attended the Australian Institute of Music and worked at independent record label Dew Process in Sydney before relocating to LA to work at music marketing outfit mtheory. Most recently, before his time at Seeker, he served as Head of Digital at Maverick Management, where he led marketing strategy for artists including Madonna, MARINA, Kim Petras, Gallant, Brandy, and Lil Nas X.

What drew Bowditch to Seeker was the opportunity to continue his strategic marketing work at a publishing company - most of which don’t have creative marketing departments at all.

In his new role as Senior Director of Marketing, Bowditch will oversee all marketing activity across catalog and frontline business, and report directly to Bogart and Head of Creative Steven Melrose. Seeker’s leadership team is also rounded out by Rob Guthrie (COO), Jennifer Scher (CFO), and Jennifer Blakeman (CRO).
