Skrillex To Headline First EDM Show At Capitol Theatre November 13

Alice Cooper, Sammy Hagar, Black Crowes (acoustic), And Phil Lesh & Friends Round Out October Lineup. November Highlights Include Bonnie Raitt, And Elvis Costello

The Capitol Theatre will host its first-ever EDM concert November 13 when six-time Grammy-winner Skrillex headlines the Port Chester, NY rock palace. "In its almost 100-year life, the Cap has hosted Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, Morrissey, Jimmy Cliff, and BB King, but it's never had an EDM show," says theatre owner Peter Shapiro. "We're thrilled to be starting with one of the best, and we're looking forward to dialing up our planetarium projection system to 11." Tickets are on-sale today via: http://www.thecapitoltheatre.com

In addition to Skrillex, The theatre boasts a star-studded lineup this fall, including performances by Alice Cooper (10/13), The Black Crowes in their only scheduled acoustic shows (10/18-22), Sammy Hagar and the Wabos (10/23), Phil Lesh & Friends (10/31-11/3), The B-52's (11/9), Elvis Costello solo acoustic (11/11-12), Michael Franti and Spearhead (11/15), Bonnie Raitt (11/19), and Robert Randolph & The Family Band (11/23).

Since reopening in September 2012 with a sold-out performance by Bob Dylan, The Capitol Theatre has hosted over 100 shows by an incredibly diverse range of artists, from My Morning Jacket and Fiona Apple to Morrissey and Al Green. Rolling Stone called The Cap "one of the best music halls in the country," and NPR hailed it as "the platonic ideal of a live music room." In a review of opening night, the NY Times wrote that "a rock theater that looks and sounds as good as the Capitol is something to celebrate," while Billboard said that "the lavishly decorated theater -- filled with mirrors, chandeliers and painstakingly restored detail -- looks absolutely stunning, and sounds even better."
