The B-52s, Big Freedia, Parliament-Founder's Orchestra Hit Brooklyn Bowl In November

Brooklyn Bowl -- described by the New York Press as an “oversized pleasure center” -- is bringing a smoking lineup of acts this November.

FRIDAY, NOV. 1 & SATURDAY, NOV. 2 – Big Freedia -- a pioneer of New Orleans’ boisterous “Bounce” rap movement -- hops off her Fuse reality show to twerk onstage over a two night run (shows: 12 am, admission: $15).

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 6 – Bernie Worrell Orchestra’s eponymous leader is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and founding member of Parliament-Funkadelic. He and his nine-piece funk orchestra will take you on a groovy ride (show: 8 pm, admission: $8-$10).

THURSDAY, NOV. 7 – The B-52s are post-punk legends with thirty years of outrageous performances under their belts. They're still going strong and put on a dance party that transcends the typical rock show (show: 8:30 pm, admission: $52).

FRIDAY, NOV. 15 – Skatalites -- the GRAMMY nominees who introduced the world to ska when they formed in 1964 -- are back together to deliver their influential reggae sound. Van Gordon Martin Band and The Brooklyn Attractors are set to open (show: 8 pm, admission: $10).

SATURDAY, NOV. 16 – Norton Records Hurricane Sandy First Anniversary Blast will feature Reigning Sound, led by garage punk legend Greg Cartwright, La La Brooks of the Phil Spector-produced girl group The Crystals-fame, garage-rockabilly veterans A-Bones with Mick Collins, and Montreal’s one-man-travelling band Bloodshot Bill. Put on by the Red Hook-based record label, the show will benefit Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. DJ Jonathan Toubin’s 45rpm “Soul Clap & Dance-Off” follows (show: 8 pm, admission: $12, dance party-only: $7).

FRIDAY, NOV. 22 – One of Gambit Magazine's "Best Emerging Artists of 2011" -- The Revivalists -- have been featured everywhere from MTV to New Orleans’ Voodoo Festival and are known for the "inviting energy" (Offbeat Magazine) of their live show (show: 8 pm, admission: $15).

SATURDAY, NOV. 23 – Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk -- the decade-old New Orleans funk masterpiece that Keith Richards famously gave a stamp of approval -- bring the Big Easy tradition to the Big Apple (show: 8 pm, admission: $15).

TUESDAY NOV. 26 - SATURDAY, NOV. 30 – Robert Randolph and the Family Band have toured with guitar heavyweights Eric Clapton and John Mayer and received high praise for their "steel-guitar soul" (NPR). They stop in Brooklyn for a four night stand (shows: 8 pm, admission: $15).

About Brooklyn Bowl:
Brooklyn Bowl is the ultimate night out, with its groundbreaking integration of premiere music, 16 lanes of bowling, a bar featuring locally crafted beers, and food by the acclaimed Blue Ribbon restaurant group. Located in the beautiful, 19th-century Hecla Iron Works building, the venue -- aka "rock and roll heaven" (Village Voice) -- boasts a sound system and amenities that "no other local rock club can offer" (The New York Times).

Wearing its homegrown values on its sleeve, Brooklyn Bowl is as committed to locally made products -- serving award-winning beer from the adjacent Brooklyn Brewery -- as it is to environmental sustainability -- it's the first L.E.E.D.-certified bowling alley in the world. And the food? "Epic," says Eater. In other words, Brooklyn Bowl's unprecedented combination of top-flight music, bowling, beer and food is "like nailing a spare on a four-ten split" (The New Yorker).
