Port Chester, NY — May 21 — The Capitol Theatre is proud to honor Meghan Stankevich, its longest-tenured employee, as she celebrates 13 incredible years of dedication, leadership, and heart at one of the nation’s most beloved music venues.

What began as a teenage obsession with live music evolved into a career rooted in passion and purpose. Meg Stankevich, raised in Northern New Jersey, was captivated by the transformative power of live performance from the moment she saw her first Dave Matthews Band concert at age 16. That passion guided her path through Manhattanville College’s Music Management program and, ultimately, to the doorstep of The Capitol Theatre.

In May 2012, just as the historic venue was undergoing a major renovation, Meg stepped into her dream role as one of only four original hires. What followed was a whirlwind summer leading up to the venue’s grand reopening, punctuated by a legendary performance from Bob Dylan. Since then, Meg has played a pivotal role in The Cap’s growth and resurgence, shaping day-to-day operations and, eventually, serving as Director of Human Resources.

Peter Shapiro (Capitol Theatre, Brooklyn Bowl) shares: “Meghan joined The Cap as our first employee, before we re-opened the theater in 2012. She has been at the heart of everything The Capitol has achieved since then, and has led the hiring of every employee who has walked through The Cap’s doors and has been along for our journey of bringing the magic of the best live music in the world to the public. Thank you Meghan!"

In her HR role, Meg intertwined her love of music and her deep respect for people, fostering a workplace defined by camaraderie, inclusivity, and shared purpose. Her leadership has cultivated what staff lovingly call the “Cap Fam”—a diverse, dynamic team united by their collective love for live music.

“Finding people to put on concerts is one thing,” Meg says, “but finding the right people who groove together to make history—that’s what really matters here.”

Now, 13 years later, Meg remains a central figure in the story of The Capitol Theatre—a guiding light in its revival, a champion of its people, and a passionate advocate for its future.

“To say this job changed my life would be a massive understatement,” Meg reflects. “The magic inside these walls is not lost on me, and I don't think it ever will be. The lifelong relationships I’ve made because of this job are immeasurable. There’s a reason we call it our ‘Cap Fam’—because that’s exactly what we are: a family.”

The Capitol Theatre extends its deepest gratitude to Meg Stankevich for her vision, loyalty, and unwavering love for live music. Her legacy is etched into every show, every smile, and every note that fills the historic venue.
