(New York, NY): Today, The Rock and Roll Playhouse announces its fall 2018 season, which over the past years, has grown from its flagship NYC venue, Brooklyn Bowl, 11 venues across 9 cities. From New York City, Boulder, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Nashville, Berkeley, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles, the Playhouse's fall season will feature the music of Janis Joplin, Phish, U2, ABBA, Van Halen, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, The Red Hot Chili Peppers & more.

As a part of the fall line-up, The Playhouse has also announced several Halloween and holiday-themed celebrations featuring the music of Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Phish and the Grateful Dead across all eight cities. Special guests include: Questlove (Brooklyn Bowl), We Are Hydrogen (Boulder/Boston), Black Tie Brass (New York City), Chum (Berkeley), Shine and the Moonbeams, and Steal Your Peach (Philadelphia). The Rock and Roll Playhouse will also offer birthday party packages for New York City locations, Philadelphia and Boulder, providing the perfect place for your child to be the star of the show, while you enjoy live music. The Rock and Roll Playhouse continues to work with charities to give back to communities; In Philadelphia, $1 from each ticket sold to The Music of Prince for Kids show will be donated to Keep The Music Alive and at the Brooklyn Bowl $1 from each ticket to the Halloween show will go to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.

The Rock and Roll Playhouse is a weekly children's music workshop-series that creates "a space within which they can discover new comfort zones with and around music" (WHERE IN New York). Created by entrepreneur and owner of The Capitol Theatre and Brooklyn Bowl, Peter Shapiro, and Amy Striem, a certified early childhood and elementary teacher, The Rock and Roll Playhouse uses music to educate children and explore their creativity. Since its founding in 2013, The Rock and Roll Playhouse has hosted over 400 concerts exploring the music of five decades and diverse genres.

Past special guests who have joined the part to perform for, educate, and inspire young music fans include: Questlove, Phil Lesh, Warren Haynes, Joe Russo, Ross James, DJ Cochon De Lait, Alyssa Cowit, The Terrapin Family Band, Stella Blues’s Band, and StevenSteven (Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips and Steve Burns, original host of Blues Clues).

The idea for The Playhouse came to Shapiro, a parent of two young children, after he discovered first-hand a lack of regular programming in New York City that combined his passion for live music and his family. He collaborated with Striem, then an administrator at his daughter's nursery school, to help fill this void that they felt many other parents also shared. Using the songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history, The Rock and Roll Playhouse offers its core audience of children under 10 sing-a-longs, dancing, stories, activities and an opportunity to rock out. Often, it is an early and first introduction to a child's lifelong journey with live music and rock 'n' roll.
