"TikTok sensation” (PEOPLE) Talks Near-Death Accident That Inspired A Music Career

Brandon Davis is becoming one of country music’s newest artists to watch with his slice of life songwriting and hearty twang that earned him a massive TikTok following (1.5 million), much like an early Luke Combs whose viral videos began his country music career. Today (11.12), he shares his latest song “Minus You.” Listen here: youtu.be/6cHkPc-sAFE

Davis spoke to PEOPLE about a life-changing moment that inspired him to pursue a career in music, here: people.com/country/brandon-davis-releases-new-single-minus-you

After being hit head on by a distracted driver on his way home from his design engineer job at River City Fire Protection, Davis was rushed to the emergency room and wouldn’t be released for two weeks. A father of four, he felt he could never chase the Nashville spotlight as he had a large family to support. After the accident, he had a second chance to pursue what he really wanted to do in life — make music. Soon enough, his wife Destiny was filming him singing and posting it to TikTok, where his songs took off.

Recently signed to Nashville-based label, artist development and publishing company Big Yellow Dog Music, Davis is set to release new music through next year. His first single as a signed artist was “The Kitchen” (10.22), a reflection of some of life’s most precious moments made in the home. His latest track “Minus You” is a small town breakup anthem that can relate to anyone who sees the ghost of past relationships everywhere they go.
