Lyte - the reservations technology platform reimagining ecommerce for artists, fans and live events - has announced several new partnerships with premier festivals across the globe. The festival partnerships include Pitchfork Music Festival, Under The Big Sky Newport Folk Festival, Night in the Country, and Baja Beach Fest as well as popular EDM festivals Bass Canyon, RETROSPEKT Miami, North Coast Music Festival and Lost Lands. This follows the news of Lyte’s partnership with Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas for single day ticket reservations after 3-day passes quickly sold out and lit up the secondary market.
Lyte’s reservations technology is being implemented by this wide range of festivals to protect fans and make ticketing easy:
For festivals that are sold out, Lyte’s technology powers both a ticketing exchange and a waitlist. Fans who have tickets but have had their plans change can use Lyte to swap their tickets with other fans, change the reservation name on them, or exchange them for cash. For fans who don’t have tickets, they can sign up on the waitlist, and will be matched with tickets if more are made available.
For festivals still selling tickets and using Lyte, fans simply choose the amount and type of ticket(s) to reserve and are then provided with a private onsale to purchase when their criteria are met.
This technology is confronting the secondary market by protecting fans. For those buying tickets, Lyte’s reservations make it so that fans don’t need to compete with bots and scalpers when purchasing. For ticket holders that have to change their plans for whatever reason, instead of becoming unintentional scalpers to get rid of them, they can go to Lyte’s safe marketplace to exchange.
Says Chris Den Uijl, Co-Founder of Collectiv Presents and Baja Beach Fest: "Lyte brings us value to see data and fan insights that we weren’t able to collect with a traditional onsale. We’ve learned more about our fans and their behavior so we’re able to better anticipate buyer trends and plan accordingly. Additionally it creates a safe place for fans to transact tickets post sellout, and helps us greatly reduce scalping, fraud, and price gouging on the secondary market."
“It is so exciting to have fans reserving tickets with Lyte for festivals in ’21 and ‘22,” comments Angeline Chase Priefer, Lyte’s Vice President of Client Services. “Filling events with fans who easily access great tickets at fair prices while also driving business success for our clients is Lyte’s mission. We are grateful to be doing it across the globe.”
International growth for Lyte continues as well, with the announcement of their first festival partnership in Australia. The Lunar Electric Festival is slated for two weekends this September and reservations are live now. Lyte announced their first festival partnerships outside North America back in January, when two major New Zealand festivals implemented Lyte’s technology.
