Shore Fire Roster Earns Best New Artist Nod + 12 More GRAMMY Nominations

Margo Price up for Best New Artist; three nominations for PJ Morton; Lee Ann Womack and Smithsonian Folkways Recordings garner two each

Shore Fire Media congratulates the clients and projects we represented during the past GRAMMY year who collectively earned 13 nominations this morning across categories encompassing R&B, alternative, rock, folk, blues, Latin, Americana and comedy.

Margo Price received a Best New Artist nod. Keyboardist PJ Morton's 'Gumbo Unplugged (Live)' (Morton Records) accounted for three nominations, including Best R&B album. Lee Ann Womack contends in two categories, with The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone (ATO Records) earning a Best Americana Album nod and "All the Trouble" getting one for Best American Roots Song. Smithsonian Folkways Recordings saw two of its roster's artists pick up nominations -- Dom Flemons for 'Black Cowboys' and Los Texmaniacs for 'Cruzando Borders.'

Price's 'All American Made' (Third Man Records) prompted Rolling Stone to say, "No other country act, and precious few from any genre, went nearly as deep as Price did this year." She toured relentlessly across the country during 2018 and sold out three nights at Nashville's legendary Ryman Auditorium.

Morton recorded 'Gumbo Unplugged' in one seamless take just two days before last year's GRAMMY ceremony. His 2018 has seen him sell out nearly every headlining tour date across the globe and collaborate with the likes of Tyler Perry, the Oprah Winfrey Network, and Jay Pharoah.

Womack, who made her ATO debut with The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone, is one of the most distinctive and decorated vocalists in modern music. She was named Female Vocalist of the Year in the Nashville Scene's 2017 Country Music Critic's Poll.

Nashville publishing company Big Yellow Dog Music saw artist-writers Daniel Tashian and Maren Morris receive nominations. Tashian earned Album of the Year and Best Country Album nominations for his writing and producing work on Kacey Musgraves' 'Golden Hour.' Maren Morris picked a Best Country Song nomination for "Dear Hate," which she wrote and recorded with Vince Gill.

Congratulations to Downtown Music Publishing, whose nominees include Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow,” co-written by Downtown clients Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt (Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Song Written For Visual Media); "Knockin' on Your Screen Door" by Pat McLaughlin and "Summer's End" by John Prine (both for Best American Roots Song); John Prine's ‘The Tree of Forgiveness’ (Best Americana Album); High on Fire's "Electric Messiah" (Best Metal Performance); Ryan Tedder's contributions to Shawn Mendes' self-titled album (Best Pop Vocal Album); Kendell Marvel's contributions to Brothers Osborne's 'Port Saint Joe' (Best Country Album); Larry Klein (Producer Of the Year, Non-Classical); and Niles City Sound, who produced and co-wrote Leon Bridges' 'Good Thing' (Best R&B Album).
