Royalty Exchange was founded in Denver in 2011 with a simple mission: to unlock the financial power of intellectual property for everyone. As the world’s foremost online royalty marketplace, Royalty Exchange offers artists opportunities to raise money and take control of their financial futures, and offers investors alternative income-generating assets that are hard to beat. With a focus on transparency and honesty, Royalty Exchange forges a path for successful songwriters and creators where there had been none before. In the outdated system, these creators lost out because only the biggest and richest creators could attract interested investors, and private investors lost out on access to purchasing the rights to many works that could yield significant returns. Royalty Exchange disrupts this system, providing a free and fair marketplace where buyers, sellers, and lenders come together to conduct deals.
In its six years, Royalty Exchange has given private investors the opportunities to purchase rights and collect royalties on classic works like Sesame Street theme songs and hits performed by artists such as Taylor Swift and Beyonce. In many cases, royalty streams for auctioned works can last up to seventy-five years, providing investors with lucrative income-generating assets that are not affected by the stock or housing markets. Since its inception, Royalty Exchange has closed more than $4.2 million in auctions, reached over 17,000 registered investors, and given countless artists the tools to fund their creative endeavors. A healthy marketplace creates more value for all involved, so the better Royalty Exchange works, the more opportunity it creates.
