In his memoir, one of America’s most enduring singer-songwriters explores the joyful highs and dark lows of a storied five-decade career. With laugh-out-loud humor and poignant insight, Wainwright goes through the family history his lyrics have referenced and his major influences: boarding school, the music business, swimming, macrobiotics, sex, incarceration and something he calls Sir Walter Raleigh Syndrome.

Gregory W. Brown/ ‘Missa Charles Darwin’/ PARMA Recordings/Navona Records

In advance of brother Dan Brown’s forthcoming novel, Origin, the award-winning composer re-releases his acclaimed 2011 piece featured in the novel with a special edition deluxe package and remastered audio. The composition is structured like a liturgical Mass, with Brown painstakingly translating DNA sequences and markers into musical phrases set to texts by Charles Darwin, simultaneously commemorating the scientist’s genius while interrogating the relationship between faith and reason.
