Amos Lee/ ‘Dreamland’/ Dualtone Records

Amos Lee has announced Dreamland, a new studio album coming February 11 via Dualtone Records which finds the Billboard chart-topping artist returning with "pensive beauty" (NPR) and "his greatest asset: the weathered voice which he uses to plumb emotional depths" (Pitchfork). While Lee has long made "music to help listeners heal" (Salon), he's most often shined a light on others' stories, whether it be those he's met through Musicians on Call or fans reckoning with loved ones gone too soon. But throughout Dreamland's eleven tracks, each produced by Christian “Leggy” Langdon (Banks, Meg Myers), Lee takes perhaps his most profound turn inward to chronicle his own struggles with anxiety and isolation and despair - opening up in an effort to help destigmatize mental health challenges; and especially in our current moment.

Khruangbin

Khruangbin and Leon Bridges/ ‘Texas Moon’ EP/ Dead Oceans, in partnership with Columbia Records and Night Time Stories Ltd

Khruangbin and Leon Bridges announce their latest collaborative EP, Texas Moon out February 18th on Dead Oceans, in partnership with Columbia Records and Night Time Stories Ltd. An extension of the two’s chart-topping four-song Texas Sunjourney, Texas Moon is an introspective stroll through the dark. “Without joy, there can be no real perspective on sorrow,” says Khruangbin. “Without sunlight, all this rain keeps things from growing. How can you have the sun without the moon?”

Duquette Johnson/ ‘The Social Animals’/ Single Lock Records

By his own admission Duquette Johnston has lived a "wild, incredible life," but even that might be underselling the three-act 25-year journey that's led to the Alabama musician's new album The Social Animals; out February 25 on Single Lock Records. A founding member of the breakout 90s indie band Verbena, Johnston toured with other ascendant acts of the era like The Strokes and Foo Fighters before leaving the band somewhere around their first major label deal (instead joining Juliana Hatfield in a reunited Blake Babies). In the years that followed, remembering "I thought I had to live in misery to create great art," a drug charge began Johnston's treacherous cycle through a prison system more focused on "zero tolerance" than recovery and rehabilitation. Emerging against the odds with a resolute optimism and renewed focus on community, Duquette returned to Birmingham to help bring the arts back to a historic part of town that had seen better days...and he did that so impactfully that the New York Times took note of his clothing store-art gallery-performance venue Club Duquette. Seemingly insurmountable challenges would hit Duquette again, but this time he would be ready.

Judy Collins

Judy Collins/ ‘Spellbound’

A cultural treasure for more than 50 years and in the midst of a career renaissance, Judy Collins will release her new album Spellbound on February 25. The artist’s 29th album - and her 6th in the past 6 years - is also a remarkable first: featuring all original songs written entirely by Collins. Spellbound introduces 12 recently composed, modern folk songs and a bonus track of her evergreen “The Blizzard.”
