Will Sheff/ ‘Nothing Special’/ ATO Records


Will Sheff — known for leading the critically acclaimed indie-rock stalwarts Okkervil River across nine beloved albums — announces Nothing Special, his debut solo album set for release on October 7 via ATO Records. 

While Sheff acknowledges that the album’s title opens him up to some cheap digs from music writers, Nothing Special is not mere self-deprecation: It’s a record that wrestles with the dream of rock and roll exceptionalism, and the realignment of values necessary to move past youthful delusion and give your day-to-day life a more mature sense of meaning and hope.

Lindsey Stirling/ ‘Snow Waltz’/ Concord Records


Award-winning pop-violinist Lindsey Stirling announces her new Christmas album Snow Waltz (out digitally October 7th and on vinyl November 18th via Concord Records). Featuring eight classic covers and five original tracks, Snow Waltz delivers Stirling’s immersive arrangements and mesmerizing melodies but with a seasonal twist, featuring songs that promise to be the perfect soundtrack for the holiday season.

Tasha Cobbs Leonard

Tasha Cobss Leonard/ ‘HYMNS’/ Motown Gospel


Grammy, Billboard Music, Stellar, and Dove Award-winning musician and songwriter Tasha Cobbs Leonard readies the release of her forthcoming album Hymns, out October 7 via Motown Gospel. Cobbs Leonard took to social media this week to tease fans with the awaited album cover and they swarmed the artist with excitement. Earlier this year in Chicago, Cobbs Leonard hosted a live album recording in the presence of friends, family, and fans. The new LP is a close one to the musician's heart, as it consists mostly of hymns and church standards she grew up listening to, but now reimagined for a new generation. Hymns features a number of guests that help elevate the album as one of the must-hear gospel projects of the year.

Say She She/ ‘Prism’/ Karma Chief Records


Say She She — the New York trio comprised of Piya Malik (staple El Michels Affair feature, and former backing singer for Chicano Batman), Sabrina Mileo Cunningham and Nya Gazelle Brown — will release 'Prism,' the group’s forthcoming debut album on Karma Chief Records (a division of Colemine) out October 7. Named as a silent nod to Nile Rodgers (C’est chi-chi!: It's Chic!”), Say She She has quickly broken out as a band to watch in 2022, their show-stopping three-part harmonies and throw down on the dance floor attitude earning significant attention from KCRW, the BBC, Gilles Peterson’s WorldWide FM, a key placement in the trailer for Lena Dunham's upcoming movie Sharp Stick and much more.

Jesse Harris/ ‘Silver Balloon’/ Secret Sun Recordings


Jesse Harris — the GRAMMY-winning songwriter and producer known for his work with Norah Jones, Maya Hawke, and John Zorn — announcesSilver Balloon, a new solo album due for release on October 21 on Harris’s own Secret Sun Recordings. Borne from a period that saw the NYC mainstay obsessed with the metaphysics-addled sci-fi of Philip K. Dick, Silver Balloonfinds Harris counteracting the tumult of the post-COVID political climate by leaning into the chaos.

Alex Williams/ ‘Waging Peace’/ Lightning Rod Records


Alex Williams became recognized as an one-to-watch outlaw country artist, drawing comparisons to Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson for his signature, cavernous vocal and gritty, go-your-own-way charisma. Now, following his critically-acclaimed major label debut in 2017 (‘Better Than Myself' / BMLG), he returns with his long-awaited sophomore record ‘Waging Peace,’ out October 21 via Lightning Rod Records.

Debbie Gibson/ ‘Winterlicious’


Debbie Gibson is thrilled to announce the release of her first ever holiday album, ‘Winterlicious,’ on October 21, 2022. Ranging from a mix of sparkling originals and beautiful reimagined covers, Gibson has enlisted her dream team of Sean Thomas (‘The Body Remembers’/Hallmark), Fred Coury (Cinderella/Emmy award winning composer/producer), Sylvia MacCalla (Selena Gomez), Joey Melotti (Barry Manilow), Joey Finger (Donny & Marie) and musicians Lydia Ansel (electric violin) and indie artist BONZIE (accordion), to create an album that is sure to become a holiday classic. Rolling Stone stated, “‘Winterlicious’ caps an amazing year for Gibson."

Nikki Yanofsky/ ‘Nikki By Starlight’/ MNRK Music Group


Montreal-based jazz singer Nikki Yanofsky today announces her new album ‘Nikki By Starlight,’ via MNRK Music Group. A celebration of jazz for purists and new generations alike, ‘Nikki By Starlight’ is comprised of 15 standards from legends Frank Sinatra, Chet Baker, Billie Holiday and more. Out October 21st, ‘Nikki By Starlight’ was co-produced with the JUNO-winning producer/composer Paul Shrofel and features contributions from Stevie Wonder’s bandmate Greg Phillinganes, Nathan East (Bobby Womack, Herbie Hancock, Michael Jackson) and the iconic Cuban-American jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.

Dillon Carmichael/ ‘Son Of A (Deluxe Edition)’/ Riser House Records


On Friday, October 21, Kentucky-bred troubadour Dillon Carmichael will release the Deluxe Edition of his 2021 album ‘Son Of A’ via Riser House Records. Available for presave and arriving just one day shy of the anniversary of the original album's release, the 18-track project not only features the lauded track-list from 'Son Of A,' but also spotlights a handful of Carmichael's latest singles alongside a never-before-heard ode to cracking cold ones, “Beer Ain’t Gonna Drink Itself,” co-written by Carmichael, David Lee Murphy and Michael Hardy.

‘Anthems We Love’ by Steve Baltin / Harper Horizon
