Brooklyn Museum – David Bowie is (Brooklyn, NY)


The Brooklyn Museum is proud to announce that it will be the final stop on the world tour of the critically acclaimed exhibition organized by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. On view from March 2 to July 15, 2018, “David Bowie is,” the first retrospective of the extraordinary five-decade career of David Bowie, will include never-before-seen objects and works exclusive to the Brooklyn Museum presentation.

Henry Jamison – Murmrr Theatre (Brooklyn, NY)


After supporting Big Thief in 2017, the "visionary" (Ladygunn) Vermont folk singer links up with Adrianne Lenker. Jamison plays tracks from debut album The Wilds (Akira Records) that juxtapose his intimate Nick Drake-by-way-of-James Blake sound with narrative, metaphor-driven lyrics "written like the Great American novel" (Billboard).

Elise LeGrow – The Standard (NYC)


The Toronto vocalist and her band perform in an intimate setting overlooking Manhattan's beautiful skyline. LeGrow’s just-released debut, Playing Chess (S-Curve Records), taps Questlove, the Dap-Kings and soul legend Betty Wright for reinventions of the Chess Records catalog (Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Fontella Bass and more) and has raves from Billboard, Relix and MOJO.

After selling out his debut NYC show in November, the North Londoner returns to show off his “tremendous vocals” (Clash) during a headlining full-band performance. Bruno's self-released A Song for Every Moon, a collection of songs written, recorded and released month-by-month over the course of a year, has gathered global word-of-mouth momentum with over 40 million streams.

Laila Biali – Birdland (NYC)


One of Canada’s foremost jazz pianist/vocalists, she and her band play from her new self-titled, self-produced LP out January 26th. Biali has toured with Sting, Chris Botti, Suzanne Vega and more, and her new album will feature her oft-requested fan-favorite cover of Coldplay’s “Yellow."

MONA – Berlin (NYC)


This Nashville band’s “high-energy garage rock” (Rolling Stone), featuring Nick Brown’s “beautiful, thrusting snarl” (New York Times), has taken them many places: the UK Top 40; tour dates with Robert Plant, Arcade Fire, Kings Of Leon and Noel Gallagher; festivals around the world; and TV appearances on The Tonight Show, Conan and Jools Holland. Now they play a special US show to celebrate new single “Kiss Like A Woman” and preview new music coming this year.

Teskey Brothers – Rockwood Stage 2 (NYC)


The Melbourne four-piece led by Josh and Sam Teskey combines a modern DIY ethos with classic American soul and blues. They independently recorded, produced and released their debut album, Half Moon Harvest, in Australia, which became a surprise Top 20 album and landed them a sold-out tour, packed showcases in LA, New York and London and an opening spot on Angus & Julia Stone's New Zealand tour.

Mura Masa – Schimanski (Brooklyn, NY)


With a landmark 2017 that included a critically acclaimed self-titled debut LP, two GRAMMY nominations and sold-out dates worldwide, the London producer and multi-instrumentalist returns in 2018 for a special DJ set. Mura Masa’s LP was hailed as "a feast of sounds and flavors" (NPR Music), "forward thinking, irresistible" (The FADER), and "13 fanciful, introspective, brightly-shining songs" (Billboard), with further praise from The New York Times (which named album opener "Messy Love" one of their top songs of 2017), Pitchfork, and Noisey.

The singer-songwriter and guitarist performs as part of The Standard Sounds Annie O Music series on the release day of new album Don’t Be Afraid. Stills’ first LP in over 10 years is a collection of heartfelt songs he calls “a self-reflective, atmospheric space walk.”

Jackie Greene – SVA Theatre (NYC)


The “Prince of Americana” (The New York Times) joins animator Bill Plympton (Kanye West, Madonna, “Weird Al” Yankovic) for the world premiere of their new animated short film, The Modern Lives, followed by a live performance by Greene and a Q&A with both artists. The short is based on one of Greene’s songs and takes the viewer on the road from a tripped-out alien invaded Times Square to the deep roots of the American South with encounters from Elvis, Satan, Willie Dixon, an Alabama Queen and more.

The Shacks – Turntable Lab (NYC)


The NPR Slingshot band celebrates its debut album Haze (3/30 via Big Crown Records) with an in-store performance and vinyl signing. The band’s live show fuses ‘60s girl groups, ‘70s funk and breezy, kaleidoscopic rock into an unconventionally modern sound that has received praise from Pitchfork, The FADER, NPR Music and Gorilla vs. Bear.
