Laila Biali – Rudy’s Jazz Room (Nashville)


One of Canada's foremost pianists and vocalists performs music from a self-titled, self-produced LP (Kobalt) that "masterfully mixes jazz and pop" (AP) and features her oft-requested fan-favorite cover of Coldplay's "Yellow." Biali has toured with Sting, Chris Botti, Suzanne Vega and more, and, for this show, she'll be backed by local jazz musicians.

Dillon Carmichael – 3rd & Lindsley (Nashville)


The Kentucky native with “a voice that moves with the heft and certainty of a tractor-trailer” (New York Times) plays the Big Stage Mondays songwriter showcase afternoon matinee as the special guest of Erin Enderlin. Rolling Stone Country praises Carmichael’s single “It’s Simple” as “a rare breed.”

Henry Jamison – The Basement (Nashville)


After supporting Big Thief in 2017, the "visionary" (Ladygunn) Vermont folk singer links up with Caroline Rose. Jamison plays tracks from debut album The Wilds (Akira Records) that juxtapose his intimate Nick Drake-by-way-of-James Blake sound with narrative, metaphor-driven lyrics "written like the Great American novel" (Billboard).

Dead Horses – High Watt (Nashville)


The Wisconsin folk four-piece performs music from new album My Mother The Moon, out 4/6. Produced by Ken Coomer (Wilco, Uncle Tupelo), the new album expands on the group’s folk sound with a raw, revelatory weight and gospel-like hymns.

Lindi Ortega – Grand Ole Opry (Nashville)


As she wraps her US tour and prepares for a series of European dates with Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, the two-time CCMA Roots Artist of the Year performs her “demon-slaying country” (VICE Noisey) on the Opry stage. Backed by the house band, she’ll sing “Liberty” and “Lovers In Love” from her Ennio Morricone-inspired album Liberty, out now via Shadowbox Music Co.

Lindi Ortega – 3rd & Lindsley (Nashville)


Known as “country’s crystalline-voiced goth-rock version of Dolly Parton” (MAGNET), the Calgary-based artist performs songs from her forthcoming LP, a Latin-influenced concept record out this spring. In 2017, the two-time CCMA Roots Artist of the Year opened for Chris Stapleton and Dwight Yokam.

AJ’s Good Time Bar

Lee Ann Womack, Randy Rogers Band & Jackie Lee - AJ’s Good Time Bar (Nashville)


These three acts are a part of “An Evening of Acoustic Country Benefiting Music People in Need,” an event supporting MusiCares, the Recording Academy foundation that provides critical services and resources to music people in times of need. The event will be hosted by Chuck Wicks of syndicated radio morning show Ty, Kelly and Chuck. All proceeds from ticket sales, plus 10% of bar receipts, will benefit MusiCares, as well.

Rosie & The Riveters - The Basement (Nashville)


The soulful Canadian trio dresses contemporary ideas in vintage clothing, playfully defiant lyrics and talkback harmonies. The group honors the timely legacy of the original Rosie the Riveter with its new collection of empowerment anthems, Ms. Behave (4/6), and songs like “I Believe You,” which Billboard calls “powerful [and] daring.”

Paul Cauthen – The Basement (Nashville)


The Texas native with a "booming, crooning voice in the same ballpark as Roy Orbison or Johnny Cash" (Austin Monthly) previews new music in this solo show. His debut LP, 'My Gospel' (Lightning Rod Records), earned praise from Rolling Stone Country, Vice Noisey and Stereogum, which named it one of the best country albums of the year.
