La Santa Cecilia – Tropicalia (Pomona, CA)

The GRAMMY-winning Mexican-American quartet fuses surf-rock riffs, hip-hop beats, classic-rock drive, and Spanish and English spoken word by frontwoman “La Marisoul,” who sings “like the love child of Janis Joplin and Celia Cruz” (LA Times). It’s a winning combination that shines live. For this festival, the band will play songs off their self-titled new album, which NPR calls “a turning point in the band’s musical career … a genuine, personal and ingenious approach to making music, despite life wreaking havoc.”
